Zeitgeist, an internationally renowned instrumental quartet, is holding its annual song contest. Any amateur composer living in the seven-county Twin Cities metropolitan area may apply. Youths (17 and under) and adults will be judged separately.

Judges will choose 3 songs (any brief composition) to be arranged for Zeitgeist's instrumentation of piano, clarinet, and 2 percussion. Winning songs will be performed in February during our Playing it Close to Home concerts. Winning composers will also receive $100 plus a one-year membership to the American Composers Forum.

Entering is easy. Just send a legible score and/or high quality recording (please indicate whether adult or youth and include address and phone number), postmarked by December 22 to:
